Brown Jack A are currently in top position in the Main League, but are one match ahead of Plough Inn A. And as the Insights show, Plough Inn A’s percentage of Games For is well above the opposition.
Brown Jack A are also just top of the Beer League, but with more convincing percentages than in the Main League. However everything could change next week as its all very close.

Sadly the Lamb Inn in Marlborough has decided to leave the league due to difficulties within the team. It’s a shame to see them go as they are talented players and we’ve all had some very sociable nights there. Perhaps some of the players will join other teams in the league? They would be very welcome.
The League rules state that if a team leaves before the halfway point of a season then all games involving that team shall become null and void and all points will be deducted from the teams they have played. I will be working on this over the next few days, along with updating other details.
I am told there were a lot of fives about this week. Rob and Becky of Brown Jack A played the fourth five down in a row during play, scoring 13 points in total.
Better still was Ann from the Carter’s Rest, who had a hand of four fives, giving a score of 20 just on their own! Obviously Ann was hoping for a ten, Jack, Queen or King to turn up, which would have given her 28 points – but it was not to be.
The highest reported hand of the night was Neil’s from the Brown Jackettes. He got a 21 in his box (no fives though – they were in the other pubs)!
